Killing Floor is a Co-op Survival Horror First Person Shooter taking place in the devasted cities and countryside of England, after a series of cloning experiments for the military goes horribly wrong. The player and their friends are dropped into these locations with a simple mission: survive long enough to cleanse the area of the failed experiments. Killing Floor - Not a "polished" product, but fantastic game play ! : Killing Floor
Killing Floor is actually a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 back in the day. Tripwire Interactive took Killing Floor and polished it up A LOT and sold it for retail (They did this to their first game too- RED ORCHESTRA). It's very, very different from L4D and really can't be compared. L4D you rush though to safe rooms. The zombies are faster, but easier to kill. Teamwork is integrated MUCH more. But in Killing Floor, you defend your ground, there are a lot more variety of zombies (or should i say "specimens"). Some are invisible, some have chainsaws, and one even has a machine gun and rocket launches attached to him. The actual game play can vary, depending on how many waves you chose and the difficulty setting (you will not beat a suicidal mission). You get five perks that you are able to level up and achievements to play for, so it gives you something to attempt for. They explained the [...] price tag was because they just wanted a fun little game people can pick up and play without spending [...] for some singleplayer game with 3 hours of content. Makes sense.
The bottom line is, watch some videos of the game play. If it does not interest you, you will not like it. If you check Steam, chances are you can find a limited time weekend deal of the game for only [...] dollars eventually (I did this with Red Orchestra and a lot more games).
